🎉 Murdick's Run the Chop Challenge

Murdick’s Run the Chop Challenge is a Vineyard tradition on the 4th of July! This race has been in existence for well over 20 years, with Murdick's Fudge the presenting sponsor of this event. The race has raised over $130 000 for island based youth programs including the Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club, The MV Youth Running Club and Rotary of Martha's Vineyard. Through the support of our volunteers, the community of Vineyard Haven, and of course our runners, this race continues to be a huge success and a great way to kick off the 4th!

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

• Date: July 4, 2025
• Location: Saint Augustine Church, Vineyard Haven, MA
• Distance: 4 mile loop (run Four on the Fourth!)
• Start Time: 9 am

This year, the race includes a fun run for the kids, followed by the main event at 9 am.

📅 Bib Pickup Information

• Early Pickup: Thursday, July 3rd from 4:00-5:00 pm at Murdick's Fudge in Vineyard Haven.
• Race Day Pickup: From 7:00-8:30 am at the race start (Saint Augustine Church).
• Changes: Please note the location has changed from previous years. No registration or bib pickup at the Tisbury School.
• Late Registrations: Will be taken at Murdick's on July 3rd from 4:00-5:00 pm, and on race morning from 7:00-8.30 am.

⚠️ Registration Information

• Limit: In-person registrations will be limited to 200. Please come early if you plan on registering in person.
• Payment: Cash or check only!
• SOLD OUT: This is going to be a SOLD OUT event.
• Race Shirts: Guaranteed to the first 600 only.

🚧 Course and Parking

• Course Changes: Due to construction at the Tisbury School, the event will start and finish on Clough Lane, just off Franklin Street.
• Distance: The race distance is slightly more than 4 miles.
• Parking: PARKING IS VERY LIMITED. You cannot park at the school this year.
• Suggestions: Please make arrangements to find street parking, use the Tisbury Park and Ride, bike, or get someone to drop you off.

🏆 Awards and Results

• Awards: Will be presented on site to top male and female overall, and to top three male and female in the standard age divisions.
• Results: Available at murdicks.com.
