MacDill's Paws 4 Heroes 5K (Formerly Paws for Patriots 5k)

🐾 Event Overview

• Date: 2025-04-19
• Location: 6901 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL
• Course: Accurate 5k course in a scenic Tampa(Gadsden) park, featuring chip timing.
• Registration: Runners (and virtual runners) will receive both a shirt and finisher's medal.

💰 Fundraising Efforts

• Cost Coverage: Providing a guide dog or service dog for veterans costs tens of thousands of dollars.
• All Proceeds: Funds raised will benefit the Paws for Patriots program.

📅 Registration Deadline

• Guarantee Shirt: Please register by 6 April 2025 to be guaranteed a race shirt.

• Cancellation Policy: In the event of a cancellation due to weather, everyone will convert to virtual runners and receive finisher medals and shirts.
• Race Day Registration: No, registration on race day is not permitted due to city regulations.
• Packet Pickup: Available on-site at Gadsden Park on race morning beginning at 7 AM.
• Running with Dogs: Only service dogs are allowed on the course due to insurance requirements.

🏅 Awards and Medals

• Finisher Medals: Yes, all participants will receive both a race shirt and a finisher's medal.
• Age Group Awards: Awards will be given to the 1st through 3rd place in ten-year age groups.

🏃 Virtual Run Information

• Honor System: The virtual run can be completed at any time, and there is no need to report your finish.
