What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
Commemoration: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

Annual Event: This will be our 2nd Annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Riverside and we are excited to grow the community’s commitment to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Collaborators: This event is put on in conjunction with CalFire, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and the Ben Clark Training Center.

Morning Pickup: Packet pickup will be available on the morning of the event (3/21/2026) at the Ben Clark Training Center beginning at 7am.
Pre-event Pickup: There will also be pickup at the Moreno Valley College of Public Safety in the afternoon on Friday, March 20th.
Shirt Guarantee: T-shirts are guaranteed to all participants who register before March 1st, 2026.

Day of Registration: Yes, registration will open at 7am the morning of the run at the Ben Clark Training Center.
Advance Registration: You’ll save time and money if you register in advance.
Shirt Availability: If you wait to register we may not have a shirt for you and we do not guarantee sizes for late registrants.

Availability: Yes. There is plenty of parking at the Ben Clark Training Center.

Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
Course Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

Fast Runners: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).

Medals: Award medals will be given to the top three men/women, boys/girls under 18, and the top 3 first responders running in their turnout gear.

Locations: Yes, water will be available at the start line/finish line and at the crossover section of the course by miles 1 and 2.5.

Allowed Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted, but we ask that those with strollers start towards the back.
Valuables Policy: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.

Registration Fee: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
Packet Pickup: Yes, someone else can pick up your packet for you, provided they present a copy of your registration receipt.
After Race Donations: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.
Company Sponsorship: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to riversiderun@t2t.org with your contact information and someone will be in touch with you within 24 hours.

Offline Donations: Please mail any offline donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, ATTN: Riverside 5K – Thomas Mazza, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
Transfer Registration: Yes, you can transfer your registration to another participant. Contact us at riversiderun@t2t.org.
Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event. Registration may be transferred to another person.

Receipts: When you register online you should automatically receive a receipt via email.
Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
