New Year's Day Run 5K McKinney

🎉 Start Your New Year on the Right Foot!

This fun 5K will have you running the New Year in festive style!

• Brunch Time: New Year's Day Brunch will go until 11am.
• Activities: Run, walk, or skip a 5K on a beautiful Wilson Creek. Start & Finish at The Stix Icehouse + breakfast is included!
• Drinks: Have a beer or mimosa and breakfast on us before you head out to the Parade!

🚗 Parking/ Where do I park?

• Short Answer: The short answer is.... ANYWHERE!
• Available Locations: We have multiple parking lots around The Stix.

🏃‍♂️ The Run

5K and 1M Fun Run on a Wilson Creek Trail, 2 water stop will be provided on the 5K course.

🎁 The Swag

• Breakfast Pass: All American breakfast + beer or mimosa for those over 21 years of age (must be 21 bring I.D.)
• T-Shirt: NYDR t-shirt (they are awesome but runners who wait until the last minute to register may not receive the size they want or may not receive a t-shirt at all. T-shirts must be ordered ahead of time).
• Finisher Medal: A special medal for all finishers.

🏅 Virtual Race

Virtual participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal via mail during the week after the race.

📅 Packet Pickup

• Early Packet Pickup: December 31st from 12pm-6pm at The Stix Icehouse.
• Race Day Packet Pickup: Jan 1st, 2026, 8 am - 8:45 am at the race site.

⏰ Race Day Schedule

• Packet Pickup: 8 am - 8:45 am late packet pickup and registration (if not sold out).
• 5K Start: 9:00 am (no late starts will be allowed).
• 1M Fun Run Start: 9:05 am.
• Brunch: 9:30 am.
• Awards Ceremony: 10:00 am (Must be present to receive awards: awards cannot be mailed).

📋 Course Notes

The use of personal music devices during the race is strongly discouraged. To enjoy all that participating in a race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, race management encourages a headphone-free environment during the event.

• Safety: Safety has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority.
• Pets: Per USATF safety rules and insurance, no pets are allowed on the 5K and 10K course. Strollers are allowed to be safely integrated into the event.
• Age Requirements: The minimum age to participate in the 5K is 6 and no minimum age for the 1 mile.
• Course Changes: Race Day Management reserves the right to change any event course at any time due to safety, weather conditions, or other production concerns.

• 5K Awards: Top Finisher Overall Male and Female.
• Masters & Grand Masters: Top Finisher Masters & Grand Masters Male and Female.
• Age Group Awards: 3 Top Male and Female Finishers in Age Groups 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
• 1M Fun Run: Not timed, no awards, just fun.
