• 5K Race Start Time: 9:00 AM
• Additional Events: Kids Fun Run at 10:00 AM, Memory Walk at 10:30 AM

📜 History of the Event

• Foundation: Founded in 2012 in memory of Greta Schoenemann
• Inspiration: Greta was a Westfield High School freshman who tragically lost her life in 2002
• Continuation: Inherited by Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss in 2019
• Purpose: Participants honor Greta and lost loved ones, keeping their legacies alive

💰 Fundraising Goals

• Previous Achievement: Raised over $250,000 last year for Imagine’s free programs
• Current Goal: Aim to raise $300,000 this year
• Impact: Funds will help open additional Nights of Support
• Community Support: Ensures access to care for more children and families

🤝 About Imagine

• Location: Centers in Mountainside and Newark, NJ
• Support Offered: FREE, year-round peer grief support groups for children and families
• Statistical Insight: 151,000 children in NJ experience the loss of a parent or sibling before 18
• Focus: Transforming grief into resilience, empathy, and compassion

  • Friday, May 15th: 4 - 7 PM
  • Saturday, May 16th: 9 - 1 PM (opening an hour early for pickup)
• Race Day Pickup: Available starting at 7:45 AM
