As Memorial Day approaches this May, join us in making a difference for our nation’s heroes by participating in the Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. All proceeds from this inspiring event will benefit The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program (The ODV), through Knowledge Point Network. This is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to honor and support disabled veterans by helping them reconnect with the healing power of nature in a community that understands their struggles.

🤝 Supporting Our Veterans

• Healing Together: Veterans with physical injuries and those with invisible wounds of war come together through KPN to find healing, support, and camaraderie.
• Outdoor Adventures: The ODV’s programs center around outdoor adventures and therapeutic activities, empowering veterans to overcome challenges.
• Participate: Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation will directly contribute to a cause that changes lives.
• Giving Back: Together, we can give back to those who’ve given so much for our freedom.

📏 Race Distances

The Legacy of Courage Half Marathon offers race distances for participants of all levels:

• 1 Mile: A fun distance for everyone.
• 5K: Join us for 3.11 miles of excitement.
• Quarter Marathon: Experience a challenging yet rewarding 6.55 miles.
• Half Marathon: Our premier event covering 13.1 miles.

Kids Dash: A fun event for children ages 10 and under to get involved in the spirit of the race!

🎒 The Ruck Event

For the overachievers, both the 5K and Quarter Marathon will offer a Ruck Event—an exciting challenge for participants who want to add a little more weight and intensity to their race.

🌳 Race Location

Nestled northeast of Tomball, Texas, Burroughs Park is one of Harris County Precinct 4’s most cherished outdoor destinations. Spanning an impressive 320 acres, this park offers the perfect setting for our Legacy of Courage Half Marathon.

• Scenic Beauty: Take in views of the park’s stocked fishing lake and observation deck.
• Accessible: The park’s blend of natural beauty and accessibility creates an inspiring backdrop.

The event will also feature vendors on-site, offering a variety of products and services for participants and spectators. After crossing the finish line, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments to recharge.

🏆 Awards and Recognition

We will also be offering age group awards, as well as overall winner awards to celebrate top performances.

💪 Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up under the "VOLUNTEER" tab on the top menu. Volunteers earn a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP race access, and more!

• Water Station: Make sure there are water cups filled and ready for participants.
• Finish Line Helper: Assist the Race Director with general finish line tasks.
• Course Monitors: Cheer on runners and ensure their safety along the route.
• Bigfoot Mascot: Wear our provided costume to cheer on participants!
