As Memorial Day approaches this May, join us in making a difference for our nation’s heroes by participating in the Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. All proceeds from this inspiring event will benefit The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program (The ODV), through Knowledge Point Network. This is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to honor and support disabled veterans by helping them reconnect with the healing power of nature in a community that understands their struggles.

• Support for Veterans: Veterans with physical injuries and those with invisible wounds of war come together through KPN to find healing, support, and camaraderie.
• Empowerment: The ODV’s programs center around outdoor adventures and therapeutic activities, empowering veterans to overcome challenges and rediscover their independence.
• Contribution: Your participation will directly contribute to a cause that changes lives.
• Honor: Together, we can give back to those who’ve given so much for our freedom.

🏃 Race Distances

The Legacy of Courage Half Marathon offers race distances for participants of all levels:

• 1 Mile
• 5K
• 5K Ruck
• Quarter Marathon
• Quarter Marathon Ruck
• Half Marathon

For our young runners, we’re thrilled to introduce the Kids Dash, a fun event for children ages 10 and under to get involved in the spirit of the race!

• Awards: We will also be offering age group awards, as well as overall winner awards to celebrate top performances.

🎒 The Ruck Event

For the overachievers, both the 5K and Quarter Marathon will offer a Ruck Event—an exciting challenge for participants who want to add a little more weight and intensity to their race. This event is a perfect way to push yourself while supporting our veterans!

📍 Race Location

Nestled northeast of Tomball, Texas, Burroughs Park is one of Harris County Precinct 4’s most cherished outdoor destinations. Spanning an impressive 320 acres between Kuykendahl Road and FM 2978, this versatile park offers the perfect setting for our Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. The park’s blend of natural beauty, recreation, and accessibility creates an inspiring backdrop for participants of all ages and abilities.

• Trails: Runners and walkers will enjoy Burroughs Park’s more than eight miles of well-maintained hiking trails.
• Peaceful Atmosphere: These trails, set apart from the busier sections of the park, offer a peaceful atmosphere for the event.
• Scenic Beauty: Along the way, participants can take in the scenic beauty of the park’s seven-acre stocked fishing lake, an observation deck, and an elevated boardwalk.

🍽️ Event Features

The event will also feature vendors on-site, offering a variety of products and services for participants and spectators. After crossing the finish line, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments to recharge.

🎖️ Awards and Recognition

All finishers of all distances will receive a medal and shirt.

• Youth Pricing: Youth-based pricing for the 5k & Quarter Marathon - 12 & Under are only $15!
• Referral Discount: Participants will receive a $20 refund if they refer 5 others.
• Group Discounts: Join as a group and receive special group discounts.

🕒 Event Schedule

6:30-7:45am Packet Pickup

7:55am Kids Dash (Meet at the Start Line and we will walk participants out to the starting area)

8:00am National Anthem and Race Start!

Results and Awards are live and available at the Registration tent immediately following your finish!

🤝 Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up to volunteer and earn a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP race access, and more!

• Water Station: Ensure water cups are ready for participants.
• Course Monitors: Help runners navigate and ensure safety.
• Finish Line Helper: Assist with general finish line tasks.

Volunteers arrive at the event 1.5 hours before start time and check in at the registration tent.
