Ready to run, have a blast, and make an impact? Join us for an unforgettable day of fitness, fun, and community at Light of the World Academy's 13th annual Run for the Gold 5K & Kids Fun Run on Saturday, March 14th, 2026!
Beneficiary
- Purpose: This year's race benefits a NEW PLAYGROUND at Light of the World Academy!

- Participation: This much-loved race has hosted anywhere from 300 to 450 runners depending on March’s weather.
- Location: The run features Michigan country dirt roads, paved trails, and downtown Pinckney—a course that attracts all types of area runners.
Registration
- Early Bird: $30 until March 9th
- Regular: $35 from March 10th - 14th
- Race Day: $40 on race day (online registration only: cash accepted)
- Kids Fun Run: $10
Note: You're welcome to register in person at the PCYDI Red House during Friday packet pick up or on the morning of the race. We can take cash or check for in-person registrations. 5K registration closes at 9:55 am, while Kids Registration and t-shirt pick up remain open until 11:00 am.
Schedule
- 10:00 am: 5K starts
- 11:00 am: Kids Fun Run
- 12:00 pm: Pinckney's St. Patrick Parade
Awards
- Overall Winners: Awards for the overall male and female winner.
- Medals: To the top 3 runners in each age category for both male and female categories in the 5K race.
- Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
- Timing: The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be live on the website after the race.
Kids Fun Run
No need for packet pick up! You're welcome to swing by the PCYDI Red House on Friday from 5 pm-7 pm to register your kids in person or pick up their shirt for the next day. On the race day, visit PCYDI's red house in the park to get your t-shirt (while supplies last) and head to the 5K start line where Mr. L, Light of the World Academy's PE teacher, will warm up the kids for their lucky run around the park!
