Build-N-Athlete 10K, 5K, & Kids Fun Run

🏃‍♂️Event Overview

The Build-N-Athlete 10K, 5K & Kids Fun Run is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to empower young athletes and break down financial barriers to youth sports. All proceeds from this event directly support Build-N-Athlete, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sports equipment to children in need throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

📅Date & Time

• When: Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 8:30 AM
• Where: Blakely Borough Recreational Complex, 303 Riverside Dr., Peckville, PA 18452

💵Registration Fees

• $25 for 5K runners
• $35 for 10K runners
• $20 for walkers
• Free for the Kid's Run

👕T-Shirts

Unisex sport-tek T-shirts guaranteed if registered by Sunday 5/17. After that date, shirts will be first come, first served—so lock in your size and get ready to run for a great cause!

🕖Day of Registration

Registration & Packet Pick-Up: 7:00 - 8:15 AM

🏆Awards

The top overall male and female runners will receive awards for both the 5K and 10K races. Additional awards will be given to the top two male and female finishers in the following age groups for both races:

• 0-19
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70+

📜Course Records

The following course records were established during the inaugural 2025 Build-N-Athlete race:

• 5K
• Male: Evan Babarsky – 17:59
• Female: Jennifer Perry – 19:52
• 10K
• Male: Brendan Dwyer – 38:57
• Female: Samantha Snead – 42:35

NEW for 2026: If a runner breaks a course record, they will receive a cash prize.

There will also be raffles, prizes, face painting, free refreshments and more!

Build-N-Athlete is a nonprofit organization committed to ensuring every child has access to sports, regardless of financial circumstances. By eliminating the cost barriers associated with equipment, we strive to give all young athletes the opportunity to play, grow and compete. Through fundraising, community support and donations, we work to provide gear that allows kids to experience the many benefits of sports—from teamwork and discipline to confidence and resilience.

👶Kids Fun Run

In addition to our 10K, 5K, and Walk, we’re excited to host a FREE Kids Fun Run as part of our #OperationTouchGrass initiative, which encourages kids to step away from screens and experience the joy of movement. The Kids Fun Run will take place after the awards ceremony, so be sure to stick around and cheer on the young athletes!
