Smalltown Soldiers 5k Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Scott Laird Hometown Heroes Scholarship Team will host a special 5K Walk/Run fundraiser in memory of Major Scott Laird, Bronze Star recipient, and Lackawanna Trail alumni.

The event will take place at 58 Firehouse Lane, Fleetville, PA.

🎖️ About Major Scott Laird

• Hometown: A proud resident of Dalton, PA, Scott joined the army after graduating high school.
• Service: He served two distinguished tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait.
• Community: During his time in the military, Scott dreamed of returning home to NEPA.
• Legacy: Scott aimed to give back to the community he loved most.

🎓 Scholarship Fund

100% of the proceeds from this 5K will be donated to The Hometown Heroes Scholarship. Established in 2021 in Scott’s honor, this scholarship aids future heroes in the community as they realize their own dreams, whether that be through military service, higher education, or a variety of honorable paths.
