🕊️ Event Background

It Takes A Borough (ITAB) is honored to host the annual FUCE 5K Family Fun Run/Walk in Mike Fuccile’s memory. On September 4, 2008, Mike Fuccile was murdered on his way to work in Jersey City where he served as a chief compliance officer for Merrill Lynch. Mike left behind his wife of ten years, Nancy, and their three children: Michael, Jack and Brooke. In 2009, The Fucille Foundation was established to help local families impacted by tragedy and it continued to do so until the end of 2023 when it passed its torch to ITAB. ITAB, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to encouraging community solidarity, relies on financial contributions and tangible donations to create meaningful, positive impacts on members of its community affected by tragedy or unforeseen circumstances.

🌍 Race Details

This year we are returning the race to where it all began, downtown Metuchen! For a preview of the certified course, please visit ittakesaborough.com.

🏅 Participation Options

• Timed Race: An officially timed 5K race (a bib with a timing chip).
• Untimed Run/Walk: An option for those not interested in timed results, which supports the organization with lower costs.
• Virtual Participation: You can request to participate virtually and still receive race day materials.

👨‍👧‍👦 Family Supporter Participation

If you chose to participate as a Family Supporter, formerly Family/Family Plus Sponsorship, individual members can participate in any option. We ask that if none of the members of your family wish to be timed or you will not be joining us for the event, that you choose the "Family Supporter - No Timed Runners" option. This will allow for more of your contribution to go directly to families in need.

🎽 Race Materials

All participants will receive a race day numbered bib. Registrations received by 11:59 PM on 5/15 will receive a T-Shirt. Registrations after 5/15 are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Winners: Medal for top overall male and top overall female.
• Candy Medals: 1st, 2nd, 3rd candy "medal" for bracket 4-8.
• Age Bracket Medals: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals for specific age brackets.
