🏃♀️ OUR CAUSE
- Condition Description: Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little-known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy, and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease.
- Impact on Women: SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
- Risk for Men: Although less common, it can affect men too.
- Research Needs: SCAD can reoccur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
🏅 SCADaddle
- Event Details: Our timed 5K run/walk takes place on the east side of Crown Point Park in San Diego on Mission Bay. Enjoy the course along the bay on the bay side walkway.
- Awards: Awards will be given to the overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place males/females overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and up.
- T-Shirt Registration: Register by August 17, 2025, to guarantee this year's t-shirt.
- Post-Race Fun: Relax after the 5K and enjoy refreshments, face painting, and fun for all while supporting a great cause - research!
