San Diego 5K SCADaddle for Research

🏃‍♀️ Our Cause

• Condition Overview: Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little-known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack.
• Demographics: Most patients are young, healthy, and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too.
• Risks: SCAD can reoccur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
• Significance: SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.

🏅 SCADaddle

• Event Date: The timed 5K run/walk takes place on September 5, 2025.
• Location: The event will be held on the east side of Crown Point Park in San Diego on Mission Bay. Enjoy the course along the bay on the bay side walkway.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the overall winner male and female, with medals/recognition for 2nd and 3rd place males and females overall.
• Age Groups: Medals will also be awarded to the top three males and females in age groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up.

• Deadline: Register by August 17, 2025, to guarantee this year's t-shirt.

• Refreshments: Enjoy delicious refreshments after the race.
• Face Painting: Fun face painting activities for participants.
• Fun for All: Engage in fun activities while supporting a great cause - research!
