On October 10, 2026, get ready to race in the 55th Annual Lake Placid Classic Half Marathon and 10K AND 5K!

PACKET PICK-UP IS AT THE NORTH ELBA HORSE SHOWGROUNDS ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 FROM 4-7PM AND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10 FROM 6-7:30AM.

Event Features

• Not-for-Profit Event: This event is one of the Lake Placid region's only not-for-profit running/walking events. The event aims to raise funds to support a community-wide wellness initiative and support local youth programming.
• Location: This event starts and finishes at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds surrounded by nature and the beauty of the high peaks. Our race continues to grow, anticipating over 750 participants in 2026.
• Race Route: The race route for the Half Marathon and 10K encompasses two moderate hills, one at the start and one towards the end.
• Start Times: The start time for the Half Marathon and 10K is 8:00 a.m., with the course closing at noon.

Awards

• Half Marathon & 10K Awards: For Half Marathon & 10K distances, awards for overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places (Male & Female) and top three age groups including 19 and under: 20-29: 30-39: 40-49: 50-59: 60-69 and over 70.
• 5K Awards: 5K-A NEW ROUTE this year! Whether you're walking the beautiful, scenic route with your children or family members while your friends and loved ones race in our Half Marathon and 10K, or you're signing up to run your best 5K of the season...we have something for everyone!
• 5K Start Time: The start time for the 5K is 8:10am (sharp, we promise). For 5K, awards for overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places (M/F) will be awarded. No age group awards for 5K.

Race Day Parking Information

• Venue Parking: Hours: 6:00 a.m.–7:30 a.m. AND after 8:30 a.m.
• Parking Closure: Parking will close promptly at 7:30 a.m. No vehicles will be allowed to enter after this time until 8:30 a.m.
• Important Note: Once parked, vehicles cannot exit the venue between 7:30 a.m. and the time the last runner has left the start area (approximately 8:30 a.m.). Please plan your schedule accordingly.
• Alternate Parking: If you arrive after 7:30 a.m., you will need to find off-site parking. Nearby parking is limited and roadside parking is not permitted.

Spectators: If arriving after 8:30am, on-site venue parking will be open.
