Chase the Shadow is a free, untimed fun run/walk/roll that is open to participants of all fitness levels.

📅 Event Details

• Date: 2026-05-17
• Location: West Swinney Park, Fort Wayne, IN
• Registration: Limited to a crazy 88 participants.

🚦 How Does It Work?

• Finish Line: Just finish the 5k route before The Shadow.
• Route: Participants will follow a bicycle lead on a route that follows the Fort Wayne Trails network.
• Traffic Laws: The route will be clearly marked, but we won’t have police presence, so be sure to follow traffic laws at road crossings!
• Awards: Fun trophies go to the first place male and female finishers and first place boy and girl (under 13) finishers.

• The Shadow Launch: 1:00 PM
• Our Launch: 1:05 PM
• Awards Begin: 2:00 PM
• Dress Code: Put on your best ninja suit, cool tuxedo T-shirt, or simply a black T-shirt.

👕 Dress for the Occasion

Chase the Shadow is the only time that we encourage walkers and runners to dress in black.

🕒 Race Details

• Untimed Event: Chase the Shadow is an untimed fun run.
• Race Clock: We will have a race clock on site if you want to see your time.
• Share Your Adventure: Be sure to record your activity with your smartphone or your fitness wearable and then share your adventure on social media.
• All Ages Welcome: All ages and athletic abilities are welcome!
