GOAT Run

Race Overview

• Event: The Great Olympic Adventure Trail Run (GOAT Run) is a trail 50K, marathon & half marathon.
• Location: The race traverses Kelly Ridge between the Olympic National Park and the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Washington State.
• Route: The route follows the single track Adventure Trail for the majority of the course, plus some unpaved forest road mixed in, and less than a mile on pavement.
• Finish Line: The finish line is in Olympic National Park at Lake Crescent, known for its turquoise blue waters of exceptional clarity.

Course Details

• Elevation: The course reaches a maximum elevation of 1,619 feet.
• Cumulative Elevation Gain: 1500 ft for the half, 3500 ft for the marathon, and 3700 ft for the 50K.
• Difficulty: This is a challenging course, but it’s worth it!
• Half Course Length: Note that the half course is long, about 14 mi.

GOAT Run is Cupless

• Environment: We are eliminating unnecessary waste and trash from our events.
• Hydration: Starting in 2024, runners will carry their own hydration vessels, whether it's a backpack, water bottle, or a compressible cup.

Giving Back

• Community Event: This race is a friendly, community-based event.
• Donation: A portion of race proceeds is donated to the Peninsula Trails Coalition.
• Support: Donations also go to the Peninsula Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington for their trail maintenance efforts.

Refund Policy

• Refund Timeline: 50% refund available until August 15, NO REFUNDS AFTER THIS DATE.
• Transfers: Transfers are allowed until 3 days before the race. Transfer instructions.
• Cancellation Insurance: Optional cancellation insurance is available during registration for full refunds in specific circumstances.
• Cancellation of the Event: If we are forced to cancel, runners will receive a free transfer to the next year or an 80% refund.
