Sharp's Ridge Runner 7M, 4M, and Kids Trail Mile

TIME & PLACE:

• Races Start: 7M and 4M races start at 8:00 am.
• Kids Race Start: Kids Race will start at 7:30 am.
• Location: Race will start and finish at Dr. Paul L. Kelley Volunteer Academy, 535 Chickamauga Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

• Trail Type: 7 mile and 4 mile courses will start on a paved road before heading into the park trails.
• Difficulty: Trails are moderately technical and flowing with climbs and descents.
• Kids Mile: All on trail.
• Four Mile Course: Specific directions provided, detailing the route through various streets and trails.

Seven Mile Course:

• Follow four mile course to Sharp Shin/Firebreak junction.
• Route continues along road to top of Independence and downhill on Independence.
• Specific turns at Lincoln extension and within the course are detailed.
• Finish is downhill on Hanover.

DIRECTIONS:

Race staging area will be at Lincoln Park Technology and Trade Center, 535 Chickamauga Ave, Knoxville, TN 37917.

• No Refunds: Registration fees are non-refundable and no bib transfers allowed.

KIDS TRAIL RACE:

• Course: Kids will run a moderately hilly and fun course of about a mile starting at 7:30.
• Start Location: Start and finish at base of trailhead.
• Adult Race Staging: Signup and staging area will be at Lincoln Park Technology and Trade Center.

T-SHIRTS:

• Limited Edition: Special limited edition T-shirts will be printed for the series.
• One Per Runner: One shirt per runner PER SEASON to maximize donations to trail-friendly causes.

TTT SERIES AWARDS:

• Top Awards: Top 3 in each division will receive free race entries.
• Shoe Drawing: Two lucky runners will win a pair of shoes through a drawing.
• Awards Presentation: Awards will be presented at the annual KTC Holiday Party in December.
• Membership Requirement: Must be a member of KTC and volunteer twice to qualify for series awards.

COURSE ETIQUETTE:

Unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification. No headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades or pets allowed on the course due to insurance regulations.

SAFETY:

Aid and water stations will be provided: however, runners are encouraged to carry their own water. Insect sting medications should be carried by sensitive individuals.

SAFETY POLICY CLARIFICATION:

Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to enter the adult race. A minimum pace of 18:00/mile will be enforced.

BIB POLICY:

Only runners should take a bib. Dropping out requires notifying race officials to ensure safety.
