Where the River Runs 15K (9.3 Miles) Trail Race - July 12, 2025 - Shenango Trail

This event is proudly offered by Shenango River Watchers, located in Hermitage, PA.

🌲 About the Race

• Location: Beautiful woods of western Pennsylvania next to the Shenango River.
• History: The trail was used in the 1800s for a canal system and has been revitalized.
• Course: Point to point, starting at Big Bend trail head and finishing at Kidds Mill Covered Bridge.
• Ideal For: Beginners trying trail running for the first time and seasoned runners seeking a flat workout!

📝 Registration Information

There will be no Race Day registration. Register by June 26th to receive a t-shirt guaranteed the size you want with your registration. Registration closes July 8, 2025.

🚍 Race Day Details

• Check-in Time: Participants MUST be at the sign-in location by 8:00AM.
• Location: Reynolds High School - 531 Reynolds Rd, Greenville, PA 16125.
• Shuttle: A shuttle will take you to the starting line and back to your car.
• Shuttle Schedule: Buses will leave for the starting line at 8:00 and 8:30.

🏃‍♂️ Race Course

Runners will be shuttled by bus to the start line. The course will be point to point, running on beautiful single-track trail, with more than half the course having great views along the river. You will begin at the Big Bend trailhead on N. Bend Rd. The course will be roughly 10 miles in length, finishing at the Kidds Mill Covered Bridge. The course is very flat with only a little over a 100 ft of elevation gain, making it ideal for all levels of runners including beginners, along with experienced runners looking for a good workout! While the trail is flat, footing can be technical. There are many exposed roots along the dirt single-track trail. There will also be many small stream crossings with slopes to and from. Depending on weather, some streams could be high, and some areas of trail may be muddy - so be prepared!

💧 Aid Stations

There will be three aid stations along the course:

• Station 1: Water-only stop roughly 2.5 miles in.
• Station 2: Halfway point (4.5 miles) at New Hamburg road crossing: water, Gatorade, and nutrition available. All runners will be REQUIRED TO CHECK IN at this station.
• Station 3: Roughly mile 7 with water and various nutrition options.
