Event Overview

Get ready for the Putnam County Classic “Race the Lake” 2026 Edition!

• Date: July 4th, 2026
• Location: 179 E. Lake Blvd, Mahopac NY 10541
• Proceeds: Supporting the Mahopac Fire Department. Last year we raised $4000!
• Start Time: 7 AM

Registration Information

• Early Bird Discount: Available until June 4th
• Race Day Registration: Yes, available on the day of the event
• Pricing: $35 until June 4th, $40 until July 3rd, $45 on race day
• Youngsters Pricing: $10 for ages up to 13, $15 for ages 14-18 (no club discount)

Course Details

The race will begin at the town of Carmel Property at 179 E. Lake Blvd, Mahopac NY 10541, directly across from the Mahopac Fire Department. Parking will be at the Firehouse and the starting line will be on Croton Falls Road between Route 6 and E. Lake Blvd. Gun time is 7:00 AM.

• Course Length: 5.3 miles
• Course Description: Flat and fast for the first half, scenic views of Lake Mahopac's stunning homes, and grit-testing hills
• Final Mile: Passes by the Mahopac Golf Course with flat terrain to the finish line on Croton Falls Road
• Swag: Guaranteed to first 350 registrants: includes shirts, hats, and swag bags

Award Ceremony and Amenities

The awards ceremony will take place directly on the waterfront of Lake Mahopac with scenic views, perfect for taking pictures after the race.

• Medals: Overall and age-group winners, plus awesome locally made finisher medals for the first 400 finishers
• Refreshments: Hot egg sandwiches for all runners, and free beer from Captain Lawrence Brewery for runners over 21
• Post-Race Festivities: Enjoy mimosas or Bloody Marys (free for over 21 participants) at Friends Waterfront Grill
• VFW’s Annual Boat Parade: Begins at 10 AM on Lake Mahopac: bring patriotic gear to cheer them on
