🐾 Event Overview

Join us for the 3rd annual Wagging Tails on the Trails 5K and 9K Race at Pepper Park Riverside in Fort Pierce on Hutchinson Island!

📅 Race Details

February 7, 2026 race starts at 7:30 a.m. This 5K loop is a flat hard-packed trail that winds through mangroves and beautiful hammocks along the Indian River Lagoon. NEW this year is a 9K option in support of the K9 unit.

• 5K Run/Walk Entry: Join in the fun!
• Chip Timed Race Bib: Accurate timing for all participants.

🐕 Dog-Friendly Policies

This race is very dog friendly! Feel free to bring your leashed, four-legged running buddy to enjoy the trail with you. All dogs to cross the finish line receive a treat!

• Water Stations: Water bowls available at the water station and around the expo area.
• Clean Up: Please clean up after your pets and come prepared with poop bags.
• Friendly Pets: Pets must be friendly and non-aggressive to other dogs or people.
• Leash Policy: Dogs must be leashed at ALL times.

👕 No Shirt/No Medal Option

We have no shirt/no medal option available. For this option you will just be participating in the race and will not receive the medal or shirt. You can receive an award if you place.

🎉 Puppy Dash for Kids

Puppy Dash for kids 10 and under. A short fast race that will take place around 8:45. Kids will receive a yummy cupcake when they cross the finish line. New this year! Option to purchase a child's shirt for $10 during the registration of the puppy dash.
