Race History

• Tradition: Traditionally held on the 4th of July weekend
• In Memory: Honoring Gene Bednarowski, a former mentor, teacher, and coach
• 10K Race: Hope to bring back the 10K race, pending State of Michigan approval
• Scenic Route: Course runs through neighborhood streets and along Paw Paw Lake

• Fruitbelt Run Series: This race counts towards the Fruitbelt series completion
• Series Medal: Competitors can earn a special medal celebrating the 20th year
• Awards: Overall male and female winners, plus age group winners
• Recognition: Top finishers (1st - 3rd) in various age categories

Race Groupings

• 5K Age Groups: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24
• Continued Age Groups: 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49
• Further Age Groups: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Awards & Prizes

• 1 Mile Youth Race: Awards for top 10 finishers, t-shirts for entries by June 26
• 5K & 10K Run/Walk: Awards for top 3 male and female winners, t-shirts guaranteed for entries by June 26
• Virtual 5K: T-shirts guaranteed for entries by June 26, mailed starting July 6
• Awards Summary: Overall male and female finishers also recognized
