Stumpy's 5k Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

Event Overview

The Stumpy 5k is back! Start your 4th of July off with Stumpy's 5k. This 5K out and back takes you through scenic downtown Shirland, IL, through the rolling hills of the countryside to say a quick hello to Stumpy, then back. Join us and make your own 4th of July tradition!

Fun Run/Walk Details

The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at the school and takes you through scenic downtown Shirland, IL and back.

Location

The race begins and ends at Shirland Grade School located at 8020 North St, Shirland, IL 61079.

Proceeds

• Donation Purpose: All proceeds of this event will be donated to Shirland Grade School!
• Donation Option: If you would prefer to not run/walk and would like to make a donation, please click the donate button and your donation will be graciously accepted.

Registration Information

• Deadline: REGISTER BY JUNE 19, 2026 TO BE GUARANTEED A TIMING CHIP & COLLECTORS EDITION T-SHIRT!
• Registration Includes:
• Limited edition Stumpy T-shirt
• Finisher Medal
• Race Bib: Chip timed 5k run/walk
• Results Posted Online

Event Schedule

• Start Time: 7:30AM 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
• Water Station: There will be a water station at the Stumpy turn around for 5K participants.

Packet Pickup

• Date: Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM.
• Same Day Pickup: Available starting at 6:30AM in front of the school.
• Registration: There will be no same day registration this year.
• Closing Time: Registration closes on July 4 at 12:00 AM.

Parking Instructions

Please park before the starting line along Shirland Rd or Boswell Rd (indicated in red below). It's only a short walk from the start and will help reduce traffic on the race route before and after the race. Thanks!
