💖 About Weighted Angels

• Mission: Weighted Angels is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization operating out of the Virginia Peninsula. We provide weighted stuffed animals to grieving families who have experienced stillbirth and infant loss before they leave the hospital.
• Statistics: The fastest 5k ever run was completed by Joshua Cheptegei in 12 minutes and 35 seconds. Every 16 seconds, a stillbirth occurs, meaning an average of 47 babies are born silently in that time.
• Purpose: Join us for the Weighted Angels 5K to raise awareness, honor our loved ones, and raise funds to support pregnancy, stillbirth, and infant loss families.
• Participation: Participants can run/walk in person or virtually this year. We would love to have you join us!

• Early Packet Pick Up: Friday, October 17th, 2025 | 5:30pm-7:30pm at Billsburg Brewery, 2054 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185
• Day of Race Registration: Saturday, October 18th, 2025 | 8:00am-9:55am at Billsburg Brewery
• Note: Day of Race Registration is allowed but the price increases to $45.00 and a T-Shirt and race entry is not guaranteed.
• Pause in Registrations: There will be a pause in all registrations and packet pick-up from 9:00am-9:15am during our Memorial Service.

🏞️ Course Description

• Type: Flat and very fast 5K course.
• Route: Start and finish on the service road at the beginning of the Virginia Capital Trail, looping within the scenic Landfall at Jamestown neighborhood.
• Fun Run: Out-and-back of the service road paralleling Jamestown Road.

🏆 Team Fundraiser

• Team Creation: Create a team to honor the memory of a loved one and help fundraise for Weighted Angels.
• Recognition: The top three fundraising teams will be recognized at the event.

🐾 1 Mile Zoo Fun Run

• Costume Theme: Kids can dress up in their favorite zoo animal attire for this fun race!
• Distance: The run will be an out-and-back 1 mile run.

🌐 Virtual Option

• Participation: Complete your walk or run in memory of a loved one virtually, anytime through Saturday, October 18, 2025.
• Inclusions: Virtual participants will receive a medal and t-shirt (must pay shipping and handling).
• Awards: Virtual runners are not eligible for awards.

🥇 Awards

• Cash Prizes: Top three overall men and women.
• Age Groups: Awards to the top three in five-year age groups (from 14-and-under through 70-and-over).
• Walk Division: Top three men and women awards.
• Eligibility: Awards are only offered for in-person runners.

🕊️ Memorial Service

• Service: Join us before the race for a service recognizing the sweet babies that have left us too soon.
• Bracelet Creation: Every attendee can create a personalized bracelet in honor of their loved one.
• Name Submission: Submit a name under registration to be read during the service.

👼 Honor Your Angel

• Name on T-shirts: Honor your angel by having their name on the back of all race t-shirts.
• Submission Deadline: Must be submitted by 09/19/2025 to guarantee name on shirts.
