The Race the Base, a 4-mile competitive trail run, is returning to Pinnacle Mountain State Park October 25, 2025, with all the fan favorites – plus a few new additions.

• Trail Type: Moderately challenging loop trail
• Environment: Shaded hardwood forest around Pinnacle Mountain

🏆 Race Details

Featuring the Base Trail at Pinnacle Mountain State Park, participants can expect a scenic route that includes a mix of terrains.

• Start: Begins on gravel and switches to paved trails
• Finish: 2.75 miles of technical single track
• Special Feature: Joe’s Revenge - a steep forest road climb
• Awards: Unique hand painted trophies for top male and female participants

🎃 Costume Contest & Kids Run

This year’s Race the Base coincides with National Trick or Treat Day, and participants are encouraged to compete in costumes for a fun twist.

• Costume Contest: Prizes for crowd favorite costumes
• Kids Run: Free 3/4-mile run on the paved Kingfisher Trail
• Eligibility: Open to kids aged 12 and under
• Parents: Welcome to run, walk, or stroll with their kids

All logistical details are clearly organized for a smooth race day experience.

• Parking: Stuckey Field at Barrett Rd and HWY 300
• Starting Line: Opposite Pinnacle Mountain State Park entrance
• Start Time: Race the Base at 9 a.m., Kingfisher Kids Run at 10 a.m.
• Awards: Overall male and female, plus age group awards

💵 Registration

• Cap: Race is capped at 250 runners
• Online Registration: $35.00 until October 24, 2025
• Race Day Registration: $40 if spots are available
• Included: Commemorative technical t-shirt and post-race refreshments

📦 Packet Pickup

Details on pre-race and race day check-in to ensure you are ready to participate.

• Pre-race Pickup: October 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Fleet Feet, Little Rock
• Race Day Check-in: Begins at 7 a.m. at Stuckey Field
• Hosted By: Ozark Foundation for the first time
