Monumental Half Marathon

Runners can take on a trail half marathon that showcases the best of Pinnacle Mountain State Park, including sections of the Monument Trail system.

• Course: Rugged single track, rolling climbs, signature Monument Trail features
• Experience: Offers a longer, tougher test for experienced trail runners
• Natural Beauty: Maintains the scenic character of the park
• Elevation: Delivers everything trail runners love about Pinnacle

Original Race the Base (4 Miles)

Featuring the iconic Base Trail, this scenic loop encircles Pinnacle Mountain just west of Little Rock.

• Course: Moderately challenging trail run through shaded hardwood forest
• Transition: Begins on gravel, transitions to paved trail, and finishes with technical single track
• Joe's Revenge: Compete for King and Queen of the Mountain awards on a challenging climb
• Awards: Unique hand-painted trophies for top finishers

Costumes, Kids, and Community Fun

This year’s Race the Base coincides with National Trick or Treat Day, and participants are encouraged to race in costume.

• Costume Contest: Crowd favorites will receive something appropriately silly
• Kids Run: Kingfisher Kids Run, a free, ¾‑mile run for kids 12 and under
• No Fee: No frills — just fun for the kids
• Family-Friendly: Parents are welcome to join their kids

Produced by Ozark Foundation, participants can expect a family-friendly atmosphere and high-quality race experience.

  • Race the Base 4‑Miler & Half Marathon: 10:00 a.m.
  • Kingfisher Kids Run: 9:00 a.m.

• Overall Awards: Three deep for male & female
• Age Group Awards: By gender for categories Under 19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+

Registration & Packet Pickup

Monumental Half Marathon:

• Field Limit: 250 runners
• Online Registration: $65 before midnight on October 31, 2026 (includes t-shirt and refreshments)
• Race Day Registration: $70 (if not full)

4 Mile Classic:

• Online Registration: $45 before midnight on October 31, 2026 (includes t-shirt and refreshments)
• Race Day Registration: $50 (if not full)
