Join us for the 13th Annual Octoberfest - 5K, 10K, 20 Mile Bike & Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run in Peru, NY. The areas first RUN/BIKE event in the North Country!!

🏞️ Course Experience

• Enjoyable routes: Runners, walkers and bikers will enjoy an exhilarating run, walk and bike through the Town of Peru & Peru's Apple Country.
• Scenic views: Participants can view the beautiful Adirondacks fall foliage.
• Post-race celebration: There will be a FREE post race party following the race at the Peru Fire Department.
• Fun activities: Live music, food/drinks, adult beverages, raffles and awards will be part of the celebration!

💙 Cause and Memory

The Octoberfest Event is an annual event in Peru, NY to raise awareness and money to help the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation find a cure.

The Octoberfest Event is in memory of Robert “Chip” Hamilton, a local business man in the North Country owning the Hamilton Funeral Home of Peru, Keeseville, and Mooers. He was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in 2008.

📖 Chip's Story

• Health challenges: Over time, Chip's ability to do daily tasks became very limited, resulting in shortness of breath with simple tasks.
• Foundation of the event: In 2010, Ruth Hamilton LaClair began the Octoberfest Event while her father, Chip was in Pittsburgh, PA recovering from a lung transplant.
• Challenge faced: Chip succumbed to his IPF from complications with the lung transplant on January 27, 2011.
• Legacy continuation: Through the help and strength of family and friends, Ruth has continued the event each year in his memory.
