We are excited to announce that registration is open for the 7Th Annual Brain Tumor Walk and 5K Fun Run!!! This event was organized to raise awareness and much-needed resources to fund critical brain tumor-specific programs to improve the lives of all those affected by brain tumors. Supported by the National Brain Tumor Society, the Oklahoma City Brain Tumor Walk was organized in memory of Betty M. Nicholson, an incredible woman who touched the hearts of the many lives she entered. Not only does this event honor Mrs. Nicholson, but it also offers individuals and teams a chance to honor and remember their loved ones, connect with others interested in the brain tumor cause, and helps to educate the local community on the diverse needs of the brain tumor community.
Top team and top individual fundraisers will be acknowledged. All registrants must check in at the registration tent! New participants can also sign up at the registration tent. Donations should be brought to the registration tent on the day of the walk. We encourage you to gather your team in our Tent City area! Please bring a tent, chairs, and lots of team spirit (no staking, no BBQ, no alcohol). While refreshments will be made available, please feel free to bring a cooler, pack a lunch, and enjoy the day!
Start your online fundraising team and join us without attending an event on a particular date. Join our Virtual Walk, and you can walk anywhere—at home, school, work, wherever you choose. You can do it by yourself, or as part of a virtual team with friends, family or work colleagues. Simply set your goal and Run/Walk 3.1 miles anytime between September 1st thru September 14th and spread awareness virtually. Whether you walk around the block, at the lake, or do a 1K run at your local mall, when, where, and how far you walk is up to you.
The National Brain Tumor Society has funded more than $38 million in brain tumor research grants and awards to hundreds of researchers at various leading institutes in the U.S. and globally in order to find better treatments, and ultimately a cure. Your support has also enabled nonpartisan advocacy efforts that improved public policies to benefit brain tumor patients and increase research budgets. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has helped in the fight to conquer and cure brain tumors. Thank you for your generous past donations. You’ve had a tangible impact on the research needed to find treatments for brain tumors.
