As Memorial Day approaches this May, join us in making a difference for our nation’s heroes by participating in the Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. All proceeds from this inspiring event will benefit The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program (The ODV), through Knowledge Point Network. This is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to honor and support disabled veterans by helping them reconnect with the healing power of nature in a community that understands their struggles.

🏅 Race Distances

The Legacy of Courage Half Marathon offers race distances for participants of all levels:

• 1 Mile
• 5K
• 5K Ruck
• Quarter Marathon
• Quarter Marathon Ruck
• Half Marathon

For our young runners, we’re thrilled to introduce the Kids Dash, a fun event for children ages 10 and under to get involved in the spirit of the race!

We will also be offering age group awards, as well as overall winner awards to celebrate top performances.

🎒 The Ruck Event

For the overachievers, both the 5K and Quarter Marathon will offer a Ruck Event—an exciting challenge for participants who want to add a little more weight and intensity to their race. This event is a perfect way to push yourself while supporting our veterans!

Burroughs Park

Nestled northeast of Tomball, Texas, Burroughs Park is one of Harris County Precinct 4’s most cherished outdoor destinations. Spanning an impressive 320 acres between Kuykendahl Road and FM 2978, this versatile park offers the perfect setting for our Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. The park’s blend of natural beauty, recreation, and accessibility creates an inspiring backdrop for participants of all ages and abilities.

🍏 Event Features

• Vendors: The event will feature vendors on-site, offering a variety of products and services for participants and spectators.
• Snacks: After crossing the finish line, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments to recharge.
• Bigfoot Running Company: The race will be produced and hosted by Bigfoot Running Company, ensuring an exciting and well-organized event.
• Atmosphere: Expect a lively atmosphere and plenty of support throughout your race.

🎊 Participation Incentives

• Finishers: All finishers of all distances will receive a medal and shirt.
• Youth Pricing: Youth-based pricing for the 5K & Quarter Marathon - 12 & Under are only $15!
• Referral Discount: Participants will receive a $20 refund if they refer 5 others.
• Group Discounts: Join as a group and receive special group discounts. The larger your group gets, the larger your group discount gets.

🗓️ Event Schedule

5:30-6:45am: Packet Pickup

6:55am: Kids Dash (Meet at the Start Line and we will walk participants out to the starting area)

7:00am: National Anthem and Race Start! Results and Awards are live and available at the Registration tent immediately following your finish!

👥 Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer then Run includes a custom chip-timed bib, super soft tee, and an awesome finisher medal! You can participate in the 5K run offered for this event.

• Water Station: Ensure water cups are filled and ready for participants.
• Course Monitors: Assist participant safety along the course route.
• Finish Line Helper: General finish line assistance for the Race Director.
• Turtle/Sweeper: Accompany the last runner and assist with course wrap-up.

🌦️ Weather Policy

Bigfoot races proceed rain, shine, hot or cold.

Packet pickup is always offered for 1.5 hours before the event start time. If an additional packet pickup is scheduled, it will be communicated via email to all registered participants a minimum of 1 week before the race.
