Join us for the 2nd Annual Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse Walk/Run 5K & 1-Mile — a family-friendly celebration of fitness, community, and our local fire service tradition.

This special event honors the historic firehouse, celebrates Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse Red, supports the Albemarle Fire Department, and kicks off Fire Prevention Week (October 4–10, 2026). Fire Prevention Week 2026 theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” focuses on lithium-ion battery charging safety.

Whether you’re racing for a personal best, walking with friends, pushing a stroller, or cheering from the sidelines — this event is truly a race for every pace.

Can’t join us in person? Register for the Virtual 5K and complete your miles wherever you are. Your race shirt will be mailed directly to you.

Firefighter Challenge 5K

Participants are required active firefighters and are required to wear Turnout gear to compete in this category. It is suggested to not wear turnout boots. The winner of this challenge will receive $200.00. 2nd Place will receive $100.00. It will be Chip Timed. Pricing for this event is discounted for our Firefighters.

Packet Pickup

Friday, October 2 at Uwharrie Brewing from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Race Day packet pickup will also be available.
