36th Annual Julie Diener 5K & Fun Run

🏃‍♀️ Race Overview

The 36th Annual Julie Diener 5K is a 5K run and 1 mile fun run that is held every year to honor the life of Julie Diener. Julie was a Southside High School student and cross country athlete who passed away in 1992 at the age of 18 in a car accident. For several years, the Southside High School Wrestling Team has sponsored the race as their main fundraising event. It is an honor to remember Ms. Diener and her dedication to Southside High School and Southside athletics.

💲 Registration Fees

• 5K Registration: $25 with free t-shirt if you register by July 31/25.
• High School Cross Country Team Runners: $10 per participant if you register by August 23/25. May purchase a T-shirt for $10 if you register by July 31/25.
• Fun Run: $5, add a shirt for $15 if you register by July 31/24.
• T-shirt Purchase: Shirts are $15 if you wish to purchase a shirt only or add an extra shirt to your order: available on race day for $20 while supplies last, a very limited amount will be ordered.

🕖 Race Day Information

• Registration Start: Race day registration begins at 6:45 AM.
• Payment Methods: Cash, check, or Venmo accepted day of race.
• Location: Rainbow City Hall, 3700 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow City, AL.
• Race Start Times: Race begins at 8 AM. Fun run will start shortly after, approximately at 9 AM.

🏅 Awards

Awards will be given as follows:

• Top 2: Overall male and female winners.
• Top 3: Male and female in each age group: under 12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
• Fun Run Prizes: Prize for top 2 boys and top 2 girls in age groups 5-7 and 8-12.
• Medal: For all runners under 12.
