36th Annual Julie Diener 5K & Fun Run

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The 36th Annual Julie Diener 5k is a 5k run and 1 mile fun run that is held every year to honor the life of Julie Diener. Julie was a Southside High School student and cross country athlete who passed away in 1992 at the age of 18 in a car accident. For several years the Southside High School Wrestling Team has sponsored the race as their main fundraising event. It is an honor to remember Ms. Diener and her dedication to Southside High School and Southside athletics.

💵 Registration Information

• 5K Registration: $25 with free t-shirt if you register by July 31, 2025.
• High School Cross Country Team Runners: $10 per participant if you register by August 23, 2025. Cross Country runners may purchase a T-shirt for $10 if you register by July 31, 2025.
• Fun Run: $5, add a shirt for $15 if you register by July 31, 2024.
• Shirt Purchase: Shirts are $15 if you wish to purchase a shirt only or add an extra shirt to your order.

🎽 T-Shirt Information

• Race Day Purchase: You may purchase a t-shirt on race day for $20 while supplies last, a very limited amount will be ordered.
• Registration Start Time: Race day registration begins at 6:45 AM.
• Payment Methods: Cash, check, or Venmo accepted day of race.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given to the top winners:

• Overall Winners: Top 2 overall male and female winners.
• Age Group Winners: Top 3 male and female in each age group: under 12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
• Fun Run: Prize for top 2 boys and top 2 girls in age groups 5-7 and 8-12.
• Participation Medal: Medal for all runners under 12.

⏰ Race Day Logistics

Pick up race packs or register onsite at 6:45 AM on the day of the race. The Fun Run will begin shortly after the 5K, approximately at 9:00 AM.
