What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Honoring Heroes: We honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Event: This will be our 5th year in Trinity/Pasco and we are excited to bring together the community to honor first responders and military, to remember 9/11, and to raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s programs.

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) to walk or run this event.
• Eligibility: Anyone of any age can run, walk, or experience this event.

Packet Pickup Details

• Pre-Race Pickup: Pre-race packet pickup will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at StretchLAB, 18875 SR-54 W, Lutz, FL 33558.
• Race-Day Pickup: Race-day packet pickup at the race site starts at 7:00 am.
• Registration: Yes, online registration will remain open until 8:30am the morning of the run.
• Shirt Sizes: Those who wait to register on the day of the race are not guaranteed their t-shirt size. Register early!

Virtual Participants

• Packet Pickup: We appreciate all our virtual participants: while we’re unable to mail packets, someone can pick it up on your behalf during Packet Pickup.
• Run Virtually: You're welcome to run your race virtually, honoring the day in your own way and choosing to Never Forget.

Registration and Fees

• Online Closing: Online registration will remain open up until race morning until the start of the race at 8:30am.
• Parking: Yes, parking is available.
• Bib Number: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Fast Runners: Runners predicting a pace faster than a 7 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).

Awards and Timing

• Finisher Medals: Yes, finisher medals will be given to all participants.
• Chip Timing: The event will be chip timed.
• Awards Format: Awards are based on firefighters, police or military running in gear in the same fashion that Stephen Siller did on 9/11.
• Patriotic Experience: This event is intended to be a patriotic experience and much more than a run.

Water and Items

• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the start/finish.
• Allowed Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also encouraged.
• Prohibited Items: Roller blades and bicycles are not permitted on the course.
• Personal Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle at your own risk.

Pets and Fundraising

• Dogs: Friendly dogs are allowed to participate with you in the race.
• Registration Fees: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
• Packet Pickup by Others: Yes, someone else can pick up your packet for you with a copy of your registration receipt.
• Post-Race Donations: Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

• Fundraising Page: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page.

Registration Transfers and Refunds

• Transfer Registrations: Yes, contact us at trinitypasco@t2t.org for transfers.
• Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event regardless if you cannot make the date or if the foundation needs to cancel the event.

Volunteering and Medical Staff

• Volunteering: It's simple! Sign up on our RunSignUp page: Volunteer Sign Up.
• Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
• Communication: Radio communication will be available on the course for EMS assistance.
