Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Trinity Pasco, FL

🏃‍♂️ What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Honoring Heroes: We honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Impact: This will be our 3rd year in Trinity/Pasco and we are excited to bring together the community to honor first responders and military, to remember 9/11, and to raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation's programs.

🏁 How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) to walk or run this event.
• All Ages: Anyone of any age can run, walk, or experience this event.

📅 Where can I pick up my packet?

• Pre-race Pickup: Pre-race packet pickup will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at runFIT, located at 18841 SR-54 W, Lutz, FL 33558.
• Race-Day Pickup: Race-day packet pickup at the race site starts at 7:00 am.

📝 Can I register the day of the run?

• Same Day Registration: Yes. Registration will open until 8:30 am the morning of the run.
• T-Shirt Sizes: Those who wait to register on the day of the race are not guaranteed their t-shirt size. Register early!

🔒 When does online registration close?

• Deadline: Online registration will remain open up until race morning at 8:30 am.

🚗 Is there parking available?

• Parking: Yes.

🎫 Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Bib Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Course Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

🏃‍♀️ I am a fast runner. Can I get a front line position?

• Front Corral: Runners predicting a pace faster than a 7 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).

🏅 Will there be awards for running?

• Finisher Medals: Yes, finisher medals will be given to all participants.
• Chip Timing: The event will be chip timed.
• Awards Approach: Our mission is to honor first responders: most awards are based on firefighters, police, or military running in gear like Stephen Siller did on 9/11.

💧 Will water be available?

• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
• Start/Finish: There will be water available at the start/finish.

🎒 What can you bring to the event?

• Allowed Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted and encouraged.
• Not Allowed: Roller blades and bicycles are not permitted on the course.
• Valuables: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. Items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.

🐶 Can I bring my dog to the event?

• Dog Policy: Yes. Friendly dogs are allowed to participate with you in the race.
• Other Races: Note that dogs are not allowed to participate in any other Tampa Bay Area Tunnel to Towers race.

💰 Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?

• Fundraising: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.

📧 Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Pickup Policy: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.

💵 Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?

• Donation Period: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

🤝 How can my company/organization sponsor this event?

• Sponsorship: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to trinitypasco@t2t.org with your contact information.

🎁 I would like to donate goods or services to this event. How do I do that?

💻 As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?

• Fundraising Options: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page and you will be able to accept donations online.
