PANTING FOR PAWS 5K & 10K, Virtual 5K

Panting for Paws 5K, 10K & Virtual Run

Join us for the 8th Annual Panting for Paws 5K and 10K at West Florence High School. There will be finisher medals, music, food, and activities for the kids. Come help us support the homeless dogs & cats in our community.

Proceeds

• Beneficiary: All proceeds go toward helping the homeless dogs and cats of The Darlington County Humane Society Shelter and The Florence Area Humane Society.
• Virtual Participation: Can’t make it on that day? You can participate in our Virtual Run! You will still get your tee shirt, and medal. Use the link to sign up and click on Virtual Runner.
• Weather: Race will be rain or shine!
• Volunteer: Don't want to run or walk? Come volunteer or Make a Donation!

Event Details

• Type: 5K, 10K, and Virtual 5K.
• Date: September 26, 2026.
• Start Times: 10K - 7:45 am: 5K - 8:00 am.
• Location: West Florence High School, 221 N Beltline Drive, Florence.

Activities

• Support Local Shelters: Proceeds benefit local animal shelters.
• Meet and Greet: Visit with dogs/puppies that are available for adoption.
• Enjoy: Music and food will be available.
• Pee Dee Grand Prix: Part of the Pee Dee Grand Prix Series sponsored by Simply Timing.

Shirts

• Cut Off: Tee Shirt Cut Off September 12th. After that, shirts and sizes are not guaranteed!
• Sizes: Adult – S, M, L, XL, XXL: Youth- S, M, L.

Awards

5K & 10K Awards (Overall Awards are based on Gun Time):

• Dog Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Dog (5K Only).
• Overall Awards: 5K & 10K Overall Male / Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
• Age Group Awards: 5K & 10K Age Group Awards for Male / Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Age Groups

• 5K Age Groups: Under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, 65-69, 70+
• 10K Age Groups: Under 12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Race Fees

• Virtual Race: $40 by 9/12.
• Early Registration Price: 5K $35, 10K $40 through 9/12.
• Late Registration: 9/13 - 9/26, 5K $40, 10K $45.
• Day of Registration: 5K $40, 10K $45.

Packet Pickup

• Date: Friday, 9/25 from 4:30 - 6:00 PM.
• Location: West Florence High School - Main Entrance.
• Day of Race: Same Location from 6:45 am - 7:45 am.

• Virtual Option: There will be a virtual 5k available for those unable to attend in person.
• Strollers: Strollers are welcome.
• Music: You can listen to music while running.
• Pet Policy: Pets are welcome at this event - Friendly, leashed dogs.
