• Registration & Check-in: 9:00 AM
• Gun Time: 5k at 10:00 AM, 1 mile “Legacy Loop” at 11:00 AM

💪 Get Active for a Great Cause!

Lace up your running shoes and join us to support our local heroes! This race benefits veterans, first responders, and their families. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to give back or get those steps in, this event is for everyone. From the 5K to the 1 mile Legacy Loop, it’s a great way to show our brave Harrisburg Heroes how much we care.

👕 What You Get

• FREE t-shirt: with your 5k registration (T-shirts & packets can be picked up on 10/18/25. T-shirts must be ordered by 9/19 to receive guaranteed sizes, but we’ll have some available in various sizes at the race).
• Trophies: for each age 5k group (top male & female: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80+).
• FREE blue bracelet: for the first 100 finishers of the 1 mile fun run/walk.
• FREE water: for participants and the joy of giving back to our local heroes.

🥫 Food Drive

We’re collecting food for the the Central PA Food Bank’s “Military Share” program for veterans & families. Military Share Food Drive

🤝 Beneficiary Information

Proceeds benefit the Dauphin County “Wills for Heroes” events run by Spirit of Service organization and coordinated with the Pennsylvania Bar Association, providing free wills and estate documents for veterans, first responders, and their families.

⏱️ Timing & Organization

Professional Timing Provided by Pretzel City Sports. This will be an amazing family event for people of all ages to show their respect to our local heroes.

👥 About the Event

Founded by Kerry Pierce of the Pierce Group Initiative and organized by the Spirit of Service student organization at Widener University Commonwealth Law School.

Special thanks to the City of Harrisburg for allowing us to host this event at City Island, the Walnut Street Bridge, and Riverfront Park!

City Island is ADA compliant/wheelchair & stroller friendly and fully equipped with restrooms, parking, water golf, mini train rides, boat rides on a large ferry, and a restaurant that opens at noon (Harrisburg Beach Club).
