Event Overview

Welcome to the Inaugural Bryson Funk Memorial Fun Run - an event to raise funds for the Bryson Funk Memorial Scholarship.

About Bryson Funk

• School: Bryson was a 4th grade student at Linglestown Elementary School during the 2024-25 school year.
• Impact: He made a significant impact in the Multiple Disability Support classroom as a volunteer Peer Buddy.
• Activities: Outside of the classroom he played baseball with the Linglestown Baseball Association and was on the Competitive Cheer squad with 717 Athletics.
• Legacy: On June 12, 2025, at the age of 10, Bryson passed away from sudden cardiac arrest, the day after winning the Little League LBA Minors championship game, wearing his beloved #3.

Scholarship Details

• Purpose: This race is to help launch the Bryson Funk Memorial Scholarship, to be awarded annually in the amount of $324 to two applicants.
• Honor: The scholarship honors his baseball season and tournament team jersey numbers, #3 and #24.
• Duration: This scholarship will be awarded beginning with the 2025-26 academic year and lasting through at least the spring of 2033 (and hopefully beyond).

Participation Details

• Registration: To make a donation and/or for registration to participate virtually, please sign up for the 5k ($20 donation) or 1 miler ($10 donation) on this page.
• On-site Registration: Local participants will be able to donate and register on site immediately prior to the event on 10/19/25.
