💖About Kathy Olenowski
Community Pillar: In 2011 Kathy Olenowski, a Denville business owner and true pillar of the community, lost her courageous battle with cancer.
A Legacy of Kindness: Kathy was only 55 years old and left behind a loving family, many friends, and a community that held her in the highest regard.
Founding PWNO: Shortly after, Pink Witches Night Out was founded by her daughter, Meg Olenowski.
Kathy’s Wish: Meg and her father, John Olenowski, knew Kathy would want them to carry on her legacy of kindness and compassion.
🎉Event Evolution
First Event Success: In 2012, the first Pink Witches Night Out event raised $400 for a local resident who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Community Anticipation: Since then, this event has evolved into Denville’s most highly anticipated night of the year.
Raising Funds: In 2024, with the support of our amazing sponsors and hard work from our committee, $45,000 was donated to a mother with breast cancer.
Current Beneficiary: This year we are raising funds for a 28 year old mother who is battling stage 4 cancer.
🏅5K Event Details
New Fundraising Effort: To add to the fundraising efforts we have decided to host our first annual Pink Witches 5K in Downtown Denville.
Community Support: We look forward to continuing to grow support within the community with a new fun and exciting event to help support this year’s beneficiary!
Course Certification: This is a USATF Certified Course.
Participant Incentives: The first 100 people to sign up will get a race shirt, and we will do age group medals.
