Death by 5k is coming back to Waterloo for year 4!

Challenge Details

• Event Date: 2026-05-16
• Location: 3659 Wyth Road, Waterloo, IA
• Course: Beautiful George Wyth State Park
• Format: Run (or walk) ten 5ks over 24 hours

Race Schedule

Participants will start each 5k 2.5 hours apart at the following times:

• 8 am
• 10:30 am
• 1 pm
• 3:30 pm
• 6 pm
• 8:30 pm
• 11 pm
• 1:30 am
• 4 am
• 6:30 am

Food and Amenities

• Meals: 5 meals with hot food served during the event
• Meal Times: 8:30 am, 1:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 11:30 pm, and 4:20 am
• Snacks: Plenty of snack food and drinks available
• Hydration: You will not go hungry or thirsty at a RunStrong Event

Participant Experience

• Rest Areas: Spend time in a camping tent, hammock, under a pop-up tent, or in vehicles
• Event Shirt: Participants will receive an event shirt and other swag
• Finishers Prize: Handmade finisher's coffin for those who complete the challenge
• Registration: Initial registration limited to 150 participants: waitlist available
