Boxer Brief 5K & Virtual Challenge to Defeat Colorectal Cancer

Event Overview

The 14th annual Boxer Brief 5K Run/Walk brings together colorectal cancer survivors, patients, family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to energize efforts to prevent and defeat our country's number one cancer killer in men under age 50 and the nation's second cancer killer in men and women combined. Colorectal cancer is a preventable and beatable. The proceeds support the work of Hitting Cancer Below the Belt to continue their screening and educational services.

• Virtual Challenge: There is a GLOBAL, untimed Virtual Challenge option for those living outside of Richmond, Virginia or for those interested in an entire weekend challenge.

Activities & Challenges

• Accumulate Miles: Participants can accumulate miles through various activities including Walk, Run, Ride, Swim, Paddle, or even Dink!
• No Time Requirement: There is no need to record a time: just report your miles and upload your photos!
• Diaper Dash: For children under one, they will crawl on the professional Richmond Kicker's soccer field.
• Toddler Trot: Toddlers ages one and two will race 20 yards towards the finish line.

Kid's Events

• Caped Colon Crusader: Children under six can participate in a sprint while wearing their favorite cape.
• Event Timing: The Diaper Dash begins at 8:00 AM, and the Toddler Trot starts immediately afterward.
• Free Participation: There is no charge to enter any of the kid's events, but donations are appreciated.
• Cheer and Celebrate: Fans will cheer on the little athletes during their races!

Awards & Recognition

• High Energy Morning: Music, costumes, games, and MANY awards create a vibrant atmosphere!
• Awards Categories: Awards for overall fastest man and woman, top age group competitors, and fastest duos.
• Team Awards: Recognitions for Best Team Costume, Largest Social Team, and Largest Corporate Team.
• Referral Rewards: Participants who refer five or more additional attendees can receive a $20 refund.
