1000 Spanish River Blvd, Boca Raton FL
Sunday, April 19th, 2026
The first annual “Run for Sweet Caroline” will be held on April 19, 2026 in honor of beloved wife, mother and friend Caroline Rhine who passed away from a rare cancer called leiomyosarcoma on November 6, 2024. Thanks to generous donations from our sponsors to cover the cost of the event, 100% of the funds raised from registration fees and additional donations will go to support Sarcoma Awareness, Patient Education and Assistance, and Sarcoma Research through organizations like the Sarcoma Alliance, The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Leiomyosarcoma Support & Direct Research Foundation.
You will note the theme of sunflowers throughout the Run for Sweet Caroline. The sunflower has been the symbol of Sarcoma Awareness for nearly 20 years and serves as a reminder to those affected by these cancers that there is hope for a brighter future. Sunflowers stand strong and tall, reflecting the sun’s light and always holding their heads high, even through adversity. Anyone who knew Caroline and saw how she lived her life with Sarcoma knows this quote captures her spirit perfectly.
Water will be provided at the water stations and water bottles will be at the Finish Line. Please refrain from throwing water bottles and any trash on the ground. There will be trash cans for easy disposal.
Race Director: Michael Rhine. 954-304-2837. Michael.c.rhine@gmail.com. Managed by Runner's Edge Foundation.
