Event Overview

Indian River County First Responders are excited to present the SEBASTIAN SCREAM 5K & HAUNTED RAIL TRAIL.

Why it Matters

• Support: Proceeds from this event will directly support counseling services.
• Programs: Funds will help with peer-support programs.
• Initiatives: Critical stress debriefing initiatives for our local Police, Sheriff, Fire and EMS personnel.
• Community Impact: Aiming to improve the mental well-being of local first responders.

Race Information

• T-shirts: Each race participant will receive a Sebastian Scream 5K & Haunted Rail Trail T-shirt while supplies last. Register by October 6th for a guaranteed shirt.
• Haunted Trail Ticket: Each race participant will receive (1) ticket to the Haunted Rail Trail (Haunted Trail may be too intense for young children).
• Costume Award: Awards for best costume.
• Halloween Movie: The Indian River County Parks and Recreation Department will start showing a Halloween movie on the big screen at the pool beginning at 4:30pm.
• Trunk-or-Treat: Join us after the race at the North County Aquatic Center while the Indian River County Parks and Recreation Department hosts Trunk-or-Treat.

Timeline

• Friday, October 23, 2026: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Early Packet Pick Up & Registration at Runners Depot Vero Beach (436 21st St, Vero Beach).
• Saturday, October 24, 2026: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Packet Pick Up & Registration at Runners Depot Vero Beach (436 21st St, Vero Beach).
• Race Day Registration: 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM: Packet Pick Up & Registration at North County Aquatic Center (9450 County Rd. 512).
• Race Start: 5:30 PM: 5K Race Start (Race proceeds west from the North County Aquatic Center to I-95 and returns to the North County Aquatic Center).

• Overall Winners: Top Overall M & F.
• Masters: Top Masters (40+) M & F.
• Age Groups: Top 3 M & F Runners in categories 5-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Entry Fees

• Cost: $35 ($40 on race day).
• No Refunds: Sorry, no refunds.
