Sebastian Scream 5K & Haunted Rail Trail

Event Overview

Indian River County First Responders are excited to present the SEBASTIAN SCREAM 5K &: HAUNTED RAIL TRAIL.

Why it Matters

• Support: Proceeds from this event will directly support counseling services.
• Peer-Support: Funding for peer-support programs will benefit local personnel.
• Critical Stress: Investment in critical stress debriefing initiatives.
• First Responders: Help for our local Police, Sheriff, Fire, and EMS personnel.

Race Information

• T-shirt: Each race participant will receive a Sebastian Scream 5K &: Haunted Rail Trail T-shirt while supplies last. Register by October 6th for a guaranteed shirt.
• Haunted Ticket: Each race participant will receive (1) ticket to the Haunted Rail Trail (Haunted Trail may be too intense for young children).
• Costume Award: Award for best costume.
• Movie Show: The Indian River County Parks and Recreation Department will start showing a Halloween movie on the big screen at the pool beginning at 4:30pm.

Event Timeline

• October 23, 2026: Early Packet Pick Up &: Registration at Runners Depot Vero Beach from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• October 24, 2026: Packet Pick Up &: Registration at Runners Depot Vero Beach from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
• 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM: Packet Pick Up &: Registration at North County Aquatic Center (9450 County Rd. 512).
• 5:30 PM: 5K Race Start, proceeds west from the North County Aquatic Center to I-95 and returns.

Post-Race Activities

• 6:30 PM: Awards ceremony.
• 6:30 PM: Trunk-or-Treat begins and lasts until the Trunks are empty (Free Entry for Trunk-or-Treat).
• 7:00 PM: Haunted Rail Trail Opens. No MASKS, BAGS, or Halloween Props are allowed.
• 10:00 PM: Haunted Rail Trail Ends.

• Top Overall: Awards for Male &: Female.
• Top Masters: (40+) Male &: Female awards.
• Age Group Awards: Top 3 Male &: Female Runners in various age groups.
• Age Categories: 5-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.

• Cost: $35 ($40 on race day).
