Sandhills Running "Sasquatch Challenge 4-Hour 1-Mile Repeat" and Sasquatch 5K

🏞️ Event Overview

• Race Type: The Sandhills Sasquatch is a repetitive 1-mile loop around the scenic Weymouth Woods Boyd Tract Loop in Southern Pines, NC.
• Trail Description: The route is a well maintained and well-marked trail that takes you around the beautiful Weymouth Center property and past the oldest known living Long Leaf Pine Tree, estimated to be over 470 years old.
• Race Options: Complete as many 1-mile loops as you can in 4 hours! Or register for the three loop 5K option.
• Location: 555 E. Connecticut Ave, Southern Pines, NC.

🕗 Date and Time

• Event Date: The event will begin at 8AM Saturday November 1, 2025.
• Packet Pickup: Will be the night prior, Friday Oct 31, from 6-8 PM at Rail House Brewery in Aberdeen NC.
• Same Day Pickup: Available November 1, from 6:30am-7:30am.

Race Format

• Self-Paced Event: For the 4-hour option, run as many miles as you can in the prescribed time or until you decide to stop.
• Winning Criteria: The runner that covers the most distance in the prescribed time is declared the winner.
• Resting: Runners are allowed to run, walk, and rest as needed for the duration of the event.
• Aid Station: The event organizer will have an aid station set up at the start finish line with water, Gatorade, and snacks.

🎖️ Event Participation

• Personal Setup: Participants can set up personal tents, tables, and aid stations in the park area by the start finish.
• 5K Runners: The 5K option is three loops along the same course with a 1-hour cutoff time.
• Continued Running: 5K runners are welcome to continue laps and opt into the full challenge at any time if they choose.
• Prizes: There will be prizes for the top male and female for both the 4-hour and 5K events.

🎽 Finishing Rewards

• Official Merchandise: All participants will receive an official race t-shirt and finishing medal.
• T-shirt Availability: T-shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations after October 20, 2025.
