About the Race
- Purpose: This Veterans Day, be part of something bigger. Lace up for a morning filled with energy, gratitude, and community pride as we honor our nation’s heroes.
- Timings: This is a timed run for those ready to race, plus a relaxed 1-mile run/walk perfect for families and casual runners.
- Impact: 100% of proceeds benefit the Dr. Ernest Lara – EMCC Veterans Scholarship Fund, helping student veterans overcome financial barriers to higher education.
- Family-Friendly: The City of Avondale’s Police & Fire Departments will be on-site with interactive, family-friendly activities kids will love!
Food and Activities
- Frios: Frios will be on-site serving their gourmet popsicles—free for the first 100 guests!
- Modern Grind: Modern Grind will also be present with free coffee and treats!
- Registration: SPOTS FILL FAST! Don’t miss your chance to run, honor, and give back.
- Discounts: We will continue to offer a discount for Veterans and Military participants.
Registration Information
- Finisher's Medal: The first 400 Registrants will receive a Finisher's Medal.
- No Pets: No pets are allowed to participate in the run!
- Packet Pick Up: Friday, November 6th, time TBD @ EMCC (Parking Lot A, in front of Estrella Hall by the book drop)
- Race Day Packet Pick Up: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM. (Packets will NOT be handed out after 9:00 AM, NO EXCEPTIONS.)
Race Day Schedule
- Start Times: 1 Mile - 9:45 AM / 5K - 10:00 AM
- Ceremony: Veterans Ceremony & Race Placements: 10:45 AM @ Estrella North Plaza.
- Community Focus: This event is designed to be family-friendly and community-oriented.
