Montana Marathon

🏃‍♀️ The Montana Marathon Overview

The Montana Marathon is one of the oldest races in the state with a foundation of nature, adventure and community. All races finish at Pioneer Park. Meet up with fellow runners and spectators to enjoy a fun ramped up vendor area, refreshments, music, prizes and awards!

🏆 The Montana Marathon Course

• Course Type: The Montana Marathon is famous for being a FAST and beautiful Boston qualifier course! While the first ten miles feature scenic rolling green hills, the final 16 treat you to a loss of 1,000 vertical feet. YouTube Video of the course: Montana Marathon Course
• Shuttle Details: Marathon racers will be shuttled to the start line from Senior High School Parking Lot.
• Shuttle Schedule: Shuttles Load up at 5:30AM and Depart at 6:00AM
• Start Time: The Marathon starts at 7:00am

🏅 Half Marathon Championship

• Award Recognition: The Half Marathon was selected again by Road Runners Club of America as the Montana State Championship Race!
• Additional Awards: Additional awards will be given by RRCA. YouTube Video of course: Montana Marathon Half Course
• Shuttle Requirements: Please note there is NO parking at the Half Marathon start and racers will be required to take the shuttle.
• Shuttle Schedule: Half Marathon will begin loading buses at 7:15AM. The last shuttle leaves at 7:30AM

🕒 Race Start Times

• Half Marathon: The Half Marathon begins at 8:00AM
• Course Closure: Course Closes at 2:00 pm
• 10K Start: The 10K starts at the Rimrock West Park and finishes at Pioneer Park
• 5K Start: The 5K Starts at Rose Park and finishes at Pioneer Park.

Finisher Medals: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k & 5K! F/M Age Group Awards: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k & 5k. F/M Overall Awards: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k & 5k.

⚠️ Important Notes

• Strollers: Strollers are not permitted on the Marathon or Half Marathon Courses.
• Dogs: Dogs are not permitted on any of the race courses.
• Traffic: The course is marked well, but it is open to traffic.
• Visibility: We recommend that all participants wear bright colored clothing to improve visibility. Music devices and earbuds/earphones are strongly discouraged.

5K: Time: 8:00am - 9:00am | Rose Park by Pool Parking Area

🚻 Porta-Potty Facilities

• Availability: Portapotties will be available at several locations including the loading area and the start of each race.
• Locations: Approximately miles 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 20, 22, 23, 24 and at the finish line at Pioneer Park.

If you register for the VIRTUAL RACE option you will have the opportunity to submit your results (directions will be emailed at the end of August) any time from September 20-25. If you register for the Virtual Race we will mail your race packet approximately 2 weeks before the race.
