2025 Light Up the Night 5k

Event Overview

WE’D LIKE TO C C U at the 4th Annual Light Up the Night 5K Run on Friday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m.

Purpose

• Organizers: Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College are excited to announce and promote the Light Up the Night 5K Run, Walk, Roll, or Stroll.
• Focus: This event was organized to highlight Interpersonal Violence Awareness in October.
• Community Support: CCU and HGTC pledge to offer support, resources, and conversations surrounding dating violence.
• Call to Action: Let’s move together and show survivors they are not fighting their battle alone.

Race Proceeds

• Beneficiary: Race proceeds will benefit the CHANT-I-CARE Assistance Fund for student survivors of violence.
• Previous Success: In 2024, race proceeds brought in just over $9K.
• Future Goals: We look to expand this fund as campus communities grow.
• Appreciation: Your continued support is appreciated!

Participant Information

• Registration Benefits: All registered participants will receive a race t-shirt.
• Awards Ceremony: Immediately following the race will be an awards ceremony.
• Raffle Opportunity: There will be chances to support the cause with raffle baskets, so bring cash!
• Course Details: The race starts on University Blvd near Brooks Stadium; runners will complete a loop around the HGTC campus before finishing on the teal turf at Brooks Stadium.

Race Details

• Date: The Light Up the Night 5K is on October 17, 2025.
• Time: Race begins at 7:30 P.M.
• Open Participation: It is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
• Safety Notice: For comfort and safety, pets are not permitted, but service animals are welcome.

Thursday, October 16

• Packet Pickup: At HGTC Parking Lot from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Location: 2050 US-501, Conway, SC 29526

Friday, October 17

• Packet Pickup: 6:00 p.m. at Brooks Stadium - 965 One Landon Loop, Conway, SC 29526
• Race Start: 7:30 p.m. - Race begins

Pricing Information

• Individual: $35 (Price Increase 09/19/24: $40)
• CCU/HGTC Faculty/Staff: $30 (Price Increase 09/19/24: $35)
• CCU/HGTC Student: $10 (Price Increase 09/19/24: $20)
• Team Registration: Must have at least 10 people for a group rate. Contact Beverly Wilhelm at bwilhelm@coastal.edu.

Registration Notes

• Online Registration: ALL registrations are online. Race day registration available at packet pick-up on October 16 & 17.
• Shirt Guarantee: Race day registration is not guaranteed a race shirt.
• Student Discount: HGTC & CCU Students Only $10 - Discount available until September 18!
