🏃‍♂️ The Lung Run Overview

The Lung Run is more than a run — it’s a movement to a brighter future and a way for you to get out and get active with family and friends. This endurance event brings together runners, walkers, and supporters to raise awareness for adults living with cystic fibrosis. Every mile reflects the grit it takes to breathe through life with CF — and every step pushes forward the fight for better care, family-building support, and a life without limits. The main hub for The Lung Run will be in Cary, North Carolina, with separate 'satellite' locations in Detroit and Illinois.

🎽 North Carolina Flagship Event

Participants get rewarded with swag for the more bonus laps they complete and can show up any time between 9AM and 12PM on December 14th.

The North Carolina Flagship event course is set up around Wake Med Soccer Park with the start and finish leaving from Fenton in Cary. The 'satellite' locations are based in the city listed, with more details below. Whether you’re looking to get a solid run in or showing up in solidarity, your effort fuels real change. Join us for a day of community, resilience, and the long run toward a future where no one with CF is left behind.

🌆 Detroit Group Run Event

The Lung Run - Detroit will be led by the Rock CF Foundation team in partnership with RUNdetroit. Runners will partake in a group run beginning at 9AM on December 14th through the sights and sounds of historic Eastern Market.

As an optional challenge, participants have the chance to join in on the "Segment Strike" — two Strava segments will be marked on course, creating a competition where the top individuals on the day's leaderboard will receive an extra prize for their efforts. This group run is free to attend and the team will have The Lung Run merchandise on-site for purchase. Details will be emailed out to registrants with additional information regarding starting locations and maps closer to the event date!

💻 Virtual Lung Run

The Virtual Lung Run is a chance to join us from wherever you are with the flexibility of distance and time of start! Your support reflects the importance of The Lung Run's mission whether you choose to do a jog at the park, run for a personal best, or a walk from home. All participants of the Virtual Lung Run will receive a commemorative shirt and sticker. Price reflects the inclusion of shipping.
