The Race 2026: ROOTED

The Race 2026 is coming, and this year we are celebrating what keeps us grounded and growing strong. Year 9 centers on being ROOTED in community, culture, and purpose. Since 2018, The Race has built a powerful foundation of wellness, unity, economic impact, and cultural pride, and we are excited to honor those roots as we continue to evolve.

Race Weekend Details

The Race 2026 Weekend schedule is as follows:

• Thursday, October 1st: Welcome Day & Night
• Friday, October 2nd: The Race Expo, Packet Pick Up, & Meet & Greet
• Saturday, October 3rd: The Race Half Marathon + 5K
• Sunday, October 4th: Community Impact Service Day + The Race Day Party!

Registration Inclusions

In-Person Half Marathon & 5K registration Includes:

• Participant gear: Includes shirt, medallion, commemorative race bib, & patch.
• Expo access: Entry to The Race Expo and social events.
• Chipped timing: Accurate timing for Half Marathon & 5K.
• Charitable contribution: A portion goes to The Race Charitable Impact Fund.

Virtual Half Marathon & 5K registration Includes:

• Participant gear: Includes shirt, medallion, commemorative race bib, & patch.
• Packet shipping: Shipping included for virtual participants.
• Result reporting: Access to report virtual results.
• Charitable contribution: A portion goes to The Race Charitable Impact Fund.

Planning and Updates Timeline

• Registration policy: All registrations are transferable but non-refundable.
• Packet pick-up: Must be collected at The Race Expo on October 2nd.
• Transfer deadline: To switch to Virtual by September 30th midnight.
• The Race Retreat: Add exclusive experiences to your registration.

• November 28th: Black Friday Registration Opens - $79 Half - $29 5K The Race Retreat $35.
• November 29th – January 19th: $85 Half - $45 5K, The Race Retreat $50.
• January 20th - July 31st: $90 Half - $45 5K, The Race Retreat $50.
• August 1st – August 31st: $100 Half - $50 5K, The Race Retreat $50.
• September 1st – October 2nd: $110 Half - $55 5K, The Race Retreat $50.
• October 2nd: At The Race EXPO (if available) - $110 Half - $55 5K.

About The Race

In November of 2017, The Race presented by The Unity Collective Kickstarter campaign to #BackTheRace was announced. Throughout the 6 week campaign, over 700 runners/walkers/supporters eagerly made history by becoming backers to kickstart the funding and vision of The Race. The inaugural race event took place on October 11 - 14, 2018.

Charitable Impact

The Race Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The Race, empowering and uplifting charitable partners and small businesses within the realm of health, wellness, and access to resources.

• Service projects: Organized with local charities and organizations.
• Expo curation: Features small and Black-Owned businesses.
• Wrap-up Party: Concludes with a Charitable Impact Service Project.
• Charitable Fund: $5 of EVERY registration fee supports community initiatives.
