Race Giveaways
- Sock Giveaway: The give away this year is a pair of amazing and super comfortable FEETURES SOCKS! Socks are limited to the first 300 registered runners.
- Youth Fleece Crew: Youth runners will again get a fleece crew! Limited sizes and quantities. First registered get first pick.
- Substitute Option: If fleece crews run out, youth will receive a pair of FEETURES socks or can choose them instead of the fleece crew.
Event Details
- Community Support: Come join us for a fun family day of running to support those in need in our community.
- Distance Options: Participants can choose a 5K run or a 2-mile walk on the beach.
- Awards: 5K awards go to the top 3 male and female overall and age group winners in 10-year increments.
- Registration Instructions: Online registration only. Pick up is race day from 6:15-7:45 AM inside Community Hall.
Course Information
This is an out and back course. All runs start and finish at 30th Street and the Beach.
- 2 Mile Walk Turnaround: Located at 49th Street.
- 5K Turnaround: Located at 60th Street.
- Chip Timing: The event is chip timed by DQ Events.
- Course Surface: Participants will be running on packed hard sand along the water edge.
Kids Fun Runs
KIDS 2K and 1K FUN RUNS are included in the day’s events. The goal of hosting the fun runs is to transform lives through sport.
- Opportunity: We believe every aspiring young athlete should have the chance to participate in our life-changing sport.
- Healthy Lifestyle: We aim to provide a fun fitness outlet that jumpstarts a healthy lifestyle.
- Awards: Medals to all youth finishers and awards for the top 5 male and female finishers in each age group.
- Age Groups: Categories include 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15 years old.
Youth Fun Run Details
- 2K Turnaround: For youth 11-15 years old is located at 42nd Street.
- 1K Turnaround: For youth 10 and under is located at 36th Street.
- Inclusivity: We welcome young runners if they can run it!
Fastest Family Challenge
We also feature our famous FASTEST FAMILY event. It is FREE! One parent and one child team up to compete.
- Eligibility: One parent in the 5K teams up with one child in either the 2K or 1K runs.
- Prizes: Top 3 lowest combined times win a prize for each of the distances.
- Bragging Rights: Winners receive bragging rights for the year as The Island's Fastest Family.
- Family Participation: Encourage all family members to join in the fun!
Charity Support
We are supporting a local charity with this event. Proceeds will go to the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children in Avalon.
- Cost Coverage: Funds will offset the $1500 per week cost per child for their free week of vacation.
- Support: The support comes from volunteerism, foundation grants, donations, and community organizations.
- Donation Impact: 100% of your donation will go to fund their programs.
