Description

Join us for the Awesome 80s Summer Solstice Beach Run presented by Moe Moon's! This unique race features the beauty of Myrtle Beach and takes advantage of the beginning of summer and the longest day of sunlight! Participants will begin on the sand at Plyler Park and head north for approx 1/2 mile and then return. Once your race is complete, join us at Plyler Park for music, food, and fun! Race participants will receive a hotdog, chips, and soda/water compliments of Moe Moon's! Bring your beach towel, dress up in your favorite 80s costume, and let's have a picnic together! This is a perfect event for your family to kickstart the summer season by enjoying the beauty of Myrtle Beach at sunset and get active at the same time! This is an un-timed event and no overall or age group awards will be given. A timing clock will be posted at the finish. All participants dressed in 80s attire will be entered into a costume raffle prize drawing! No animals or strollers allowed on race course.

Our Mission: Making a difference, one child at a time. Our mission is to provide food for hungry children of Horry County who through no fault of their own do not have enough to eat on a daily basis. Our motto is “HUNGER doesn’t take the weekend off, neither does our 100% volunteer staff.”

Participants are asked to consider purchasing any of the following and bring to PPU and/or race day:

• Single serve items: cereal and oatmeal
• Convenience items: Mac and cheese cups
• Baking essentials: Bread
• Snacks: Peanut butter and Jelly
• Desserts: Pudding cups
• Frozen treats: Popsicles (not frozen yet)
• Crackers: Toastee Chee Crackers
• Chips: Single serve chips
• Meals: Canned Pasta
• Protein: Vienna Sausages
• Energy bars: Granola Bars
• Drinks: Kool-Aid

Race Info

• Course: Race will begin and end on the sand regardless of the tide
• Direction: Begin on the beach adjacent to Plyler Park and head north
• Finish: Return to finish line on the beach
• Monitors: Course monitors will be along the course to provide direction
• Disqualifications: Animals are not permitted on the race course
• Equipment: Joggers, strollers, skateboards, or any wheeled devices are not permitted

• Date: Saturday, June 20 from 2:30-4:00 PM at Native Sons (1519 Executive Avenue, MB)
• Date: Sunday, June 21 from 6:00 PM-6:45 PM at Plyler Park (1100 N Ocean Blvd, MB)

• Method: Registration is only available online
• Deadline: Registration closes Sunday, June 21 at 5:30 PM
