Beacon Stride For Life

👟 Welcome to the Second Beacon Stride For Life Charity Event!

📖 Our Story:

• Background: On March 28, 2023, I lost my mother “Missy” Maureen Manzi/Tyburczy to lung cancer. She battled cancer for less than a year where she fought it hard but unfortunately the cancer was too strong for her.
• Community Impact: She was a life-long resident of Beacon where she served the community the best she could, working at Bob’s Corner Store and as a bus driver for the City of Beacon School District.
• Motivation: It's the difficult experience of losing my mother that sparked the idea of creating an event to support families going through similar heart-wrenching times.
• Goal: I want to bring the community together and raise awareness of these battles we are tired of hearing about.

📅 Details:

• Event Choices: Participants can choose between a 5k run/walk, a 9-mile bicycle ride, or an 18-mile bicycle ride to help fight cancer.
• Routes: Pre-determined routes lead each participant through Beacon, starting and finishing at Memorial Park.
• Support: All routes will have markers and volunteers to guide participants.
• Refreshments: Enjoy refreshments and music after the events!

💰 Event Pricing:

• July 18th - Aug 24th: $30 (Free T-shirt included)
• Aug 25th - Sep 28th: $40 (Free T-shirt included)
• Sep 29th - Oct 12th: $45 (Free T-shirt included before October 6th)
• Oct 13th - October 25th: $50

🅿️ Parking:

• Free Parking: Available near the pavilion and in nearby locations.
• Restricted Areas: Please do not park on the hill of Robert Cahill Drive where routes go.
• Additional Areas: Parking includes the flat grassy area, skate park vicinity, and Pop Warner Football field parking lot.
