Race Overview

This November, lace up your running shoes and join us for the Turkey Shuffle, a delightful race set amidst the serene beauty of Texas parks and greenbelts. As autumn paints the landscape with vibrant hues and the Texas heat takes a brief respite, participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in the stunning fall colors while enjoying a well-organized and festive running experience.

Race Distances

• Kids Dash: This event is for our little Yeti's and is typically about a 50 meter dash. Designed for kids 10 and under. This is not timed and includes a tee shirt, race medal, and exclusive Kids Dash recognition pin.
• 1 Mile: Our 1 mile race is designed for all ages and experience levels. This event is not chip timed and includes a tee shirt and race medal.
• 5K: Our 5K race will take you 3.11 miles through the course. This event is chip timed and features 1st overall trophies for male and female finishers, special recognition pins for 1st place male and female masters category as well as our standard age group awards.
• 10K: Our 10K race will take you 6.22 miles through the course. This event is chip timed and features 1st overall Bigfoot trophies for male and female finishers, special recognition pins for 1st place male and female masters category as well as our standard age group awards.

Entertainment

• DJ Sasquatch: Will be on hand to keep the energy high with a fantastic playlist, ensuring that you’re motivated and pumped throughout your run.
• Costume Contest: Embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving by dressing up in your most creative, Thanksgiving-themed costume.
• Live Awards: Every runner will be celebrated with recognition and age group awards, honoring your personal achievements and dedication.
• Community Celebration: Join us for a day of running, celebration, and community at the Turkey Shuffle.

Costume Contest Details

• Highlights: The contest at the Turkey Shuffle is a spectacular highlight you won’t want to miss. Unleash your creativity!
• Prizes: Winner will receive an impressive "Biggest Turkey" Trophy and a prize pack that includes a certificate for 2 free future races, a $25 HEB gift card, and a special Bigfoot Running Company Swag Pack.

Event Schedule

• 7:30-8:40am: Packet Pickup ends 20 minutes after the race.
• 8:55am: Kids Dash.
• 9:00am: National Anthem and Race Start!
• Awards: Results and awards are live and available at the Registration tent immediately following your finish!

Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up under the "VOLUNTEER" tab on the top menu. Various volunteer roles include:

• Course Monitor: Ensure runner safety and provide encouragement.
• Finish Line Helper: Assist with finish line tasks.
• Bigfoot Mascot: Cheer on participants and provide fun photo opportunities.
• Water Station: Prepare water cups for runners and cheer them on.

Important Notes

• Pack Pickup: Always offered for 1.5 hours before the event start time.
• Race Conditions: Bigfoot races proceed rain, shine, hot or cold.
• Shirt Guarantee: Cutoff is 10 days out from the event.
• Course Conditions: Expect mixed surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and occasional dirt paths.
