🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Date: May 23, 2026
• Location: Dannenberger's Family Vineyards, New Berlin, IL
• Start Time: Mini-Biathlon at 7:30 AM
• Events:
  • Mini-Biathlon: 1-mile run - 7.5-mile bike
  • 5K Run
  • Biathlon: 5K run and a 15-mile bike
  • Team Biathlon: One person runs the 5K and the other bikes the 15 miles

📅 Packet Pickup

• When: Race day from 6:30 AM to 7:15 AM for the mini-biathlon
• Reopen: After the mini-biathlon starts till 8:15 AM
• Location: Check-in tent on the south side of the winery near Irish Road

🚗 Parking & Facilities

• Parking: On the east side of the winery
• Restrooms: Available inside the winery and outside porta-potties

⚠️ Safety Information

• Rules of the Road: Run on the left side and bike on the right side
• Assistance: Ham Radio operators will patrol the roads
• Traffic: Minimal expected due to few homes in the area

🏁 5K Run Details

• Start Time: 8:30 AM for all participants
• Route: Flat, out and back on Irish Rd

⏱️ Timing & Finisher Information

• Chipped Timed: Line up according to your intended pace
• Finish: Snacks available at the winery after finishing
• Breakfast: Food for sale for friends and family

🚴‍♂️ Transition Details

• Transition Start: Begins when crossing the finish line
• Rules: Walk your bike out of the corral with your helmet on
• Transition Time: Ends when crossing the start/finish line heading east
• Lap Times: Sum of all laps includes transition times

🔄 Transition Rules

• Positions: First come, first served for bike racks
• Gear: Keep it close to your bike for easy access
• Helmet: Required when leaving the corral
• Drafting: Maintain at least 3 bike lengths

• Top Finishers: Awards for top finishers in all events
• Age Brackets: Recognitions across different age groups
