About Cri du Chat Syndrome
- Definition: Cri du Chat Syndrome is a rare genetic deletion disorder in which a portion of the short arm of chromosome 5 is missing.
- Characteristics: This results in varying degrees of delayed development and low muscle tone, among other characteristics.
- Cri du Chat Day: May 5 has been declared Cri du Chat Day.
- Aware Week: The week that surrounds May 5 is considered Cri du Chat Awareness Week.
