Greater Goldsboro Road Run - Run for a Child

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Event Date: 2026-03-28
• Location: The Hub, Goldsboro, NC
• Tradition: Experience one of the oldest road runs in North Carolina, held annually since 1979, except for 2020 due to the pandemic.
• Course: USATF certified course lined with azaleas and dogwoods.

👶 Run for a Child

• Annual Event: 47th Annual Greater Goldsboro Road Run facilitated by the Sunrise Kiwanis of Goldsboro.
• Purpose: Fundraiser to assist children and youth in the community.
• Support: Funds generated support over 20 local organizations assisting needy children and youth of Wayne County.
• Volunteers: Will observe safety precautions for an excellent event experience.

🏅 Race Details

• Race Types: 10K run, 5K Run/Walk, and 1-mile Fun Run.
• Start Location: Near The Hub at the Southeast intersection of Center and Chestnut Streets.
• Start Time: All events begin at 9:00 AM.
• Registration: The Hub, 200 S. Center St.

💰 Entry Fees

• 5K Walk/Run, 10K Run: $30.00 pre-registration, $40.00 race day registration.
• 1 Mile Fun Run: $20.00 pre-registration, $15.00 each for 2 or more immediate family members.
• Registration Deadline: Online pre-registration ends on March 25, 2026, at 11:00 PM.
• Race Day Pickup: Starts at 7:00 AM.

🏆 Awards

• 5K and 10K Runs: Trophies for first place, silver medallion for second, bronze for third, and medallions for first three places in each age group.
• 1 Mile Fun Run: Medal for each participant.
• Categories: Age divisions for 5K Walk/Run & 10K Run ranging from under 15 to 75+.
• Open to All: 1-Mile Fun Run is open to all ages.

⏱️ Timing

• Timing Method: Electronic bib timing by Run the East LLC.
• Packet Pickup: Pre-registered entrants can pick up registration packs on race day.
• T-shirts: Provided to all pre-registered participants in various sizes.
• Early Pickup: Available on March 27th from 5:30–6:00 PM at the downtown Goldsboro Fire Department.
