Race Overview

• Event: Join us at the Smoke on the Plains BBQ Festival for our Smokin' 5K race!
• Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026
• Time: 7:30am
• Location: 2801 James Street, Derby, KS

Course Details

• Certification: The course is a USATF certified course.
• Start/Finish: It will start and finish in High Park.
• Route: The race will run through the city streets of Derby, KS.
• Awards: There will be awards for the overall female and overall male, and 1st place age group awards, sponsored by Supplement Giant.

Finisher Medals and Shirts

• Participation: Finisher medals will be given to everyone who crosses the finish line.
• Shirts: Participants will also receive a race shirt.
• Registration Deadline: Must register by May 31 to guarantee a race shirt.
• Raffle: NEW this year! The first 50 people who register will be entered into a raffle to win a fire pit!

Pre-Race Information

• Packet Pick-Up: Will be on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Derby Recreation Center (801 E. Market St. Derby, KS 67037) from 12:00pm-8:00pm at the guest services desk.
• Important: Please make sure to pick up your packet prior to race day.

Race Day Information

• Start Location: The race will start at the North end of High Park between the upper and lower parking lot section.
• Road Closures: Road closures will begin at 6:45am, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the park and get ready for the race.
