DRC Smokin' 5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join us at the Smoke on the Plains BBQ Festival for our Smokin' 5K race! The race will be on Saturday, June 14 at 7:30am. The course is a USATF certified course. It will start and finish in High Park, and will run through the city streets of Derby, Ks. There will be awards for the overall female and overall male, and 1st place age group awards. The overall winners will win a box of steaks! And we have great prizes for the age group winners! Finisher medals will also be given to everyone who crosses the finish line. Participants will also receive a race shirt! Must register by June 2 to guarantee a race shirt.

The Smokin’ 5K is an event you won’t want to miss! So lace up your sneakers, grab your friends, and get ready to smoke the competition.

📅 Pre-Race Details

• Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be on Friday, June 13 at Derby Recreation Center (801 E. Market St. Derby, KS 67037) from 12:00pm-8:00pm at the guest services desk.
• Important: Please make sure to pick up your packet prior to race day.

🏁 Race Day Information

• Date: The race is on Saturday, June 14 and begins at 7:30am.
• Start Location: The start location of the race will be on the North end of High Park between the upper and lower parking lot section.
• Road Closures: Road closures will begin at 6:45am, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the park and get ready for the race.
